With over 750,000 people living there, Glasgow is Scotland’s most densely populated city. Ever since its foundation it has had a kind of sibling rivalry with Edinburgh in the east, Scotland’s capital city and the seat of the recently restored Scottish Parliament. While it may not hold the same iconic charm as Edinburgh, it has certainly made the most of what it’s got – fantastic architecture and an outstanding Victorian heritage enabling it to establish itself as a leading centre for culture and the arts. These winning attributes have no way been degraded since its strong economic revival. No longer a city in decline, although it still has a poor health record (deep fried mars bars anyone?) it has become one of the most dynamic and vibrant economic and cultural hubs in Scotland.
